Zooming
When
you
rotate
the
zooming
ring
manually
or
push
the
power
zooming
button,
the
magnification
of
the subject changes.
Therefore, you
can compose the picture easily and you can add zooming effects to your
pictures, that is, continuous changing of the magnification.
POWER ZOOMING
Zooming
begins
by
pressing
either
of
the
power
zooming
buttons.
The
magnification changes with the button "T" toward the telephoto area, and
with "W" toward the wide-angle area. When you push the buttons during
shooting, zooming effects are easily obtained.
The zooming speed can be switched in two steps. When the zooming speed
switch on the side of the camera is at "H", the speed is fast (approx. 5
seconds); "L" is for low speed zooming (approx. 7 seconds); and "M" is for
manual zooming.
MANUAL ZOOMING
The power zooming system gives the zooming effect in a fixed time. If you
want a more rapid, or slower zooming effect, or when you aim at a more
exact composition, use the manual zooming ring.
• Turn the zooming speed switch to "M".
Hold the zooming lever as if pressing it with the finger and turn the
zooming ring. Be careful not to pull it as it may accidentally turn to set the
macro position.
•
Manual zooming can be performed without setting the zooming speed
switch at "M" but a smooth effect will not be possible.
• The viewfinder magnification is life-size when the focal length is 15mm.
•
Effective manual zooming techniques may be acquired through repeated
practice.
