There is severe hum or noise.
• A TV or VCR is placed too close to the
unit. Move the unit away from the TV or
VCR.
The sound from the conne:cted source is
distorted.
• If "VIDEO" appears in the display when
you press FUNCTION, switch the display
to "MD" (See "Connecting a VCR" on
page 14).
-0:00" (or "12:00") flashes in the display.
• A power interruption occurred. Set the
clock and timer settings again.
The timer does not function.
• Set the clock correctly.
"DAILY 1", "DAILY 2". and "REC" do not
appear when you press the TIMER SELECT
button.

The CD will not play.
• Close the front cover.
• Check if the CD is correctly inserted in
the slot.
• The CD is dirty.
• The CD is inserted with the label side
facing left.
• Moisture condensation has built up.
Remove the CD and leave the system
turned on for about an hour until the
moisture evaporates.
Playback does not start from the first
track.
• The system is in Program or Shuffle Play.
Press CONTINUE.
"-OVER-" is displayed.
• You have reached the end of the CD.
Press and hold ◄◄ to return.
