The sound loses stereo effect when you play a
VIDEO CD, a CD. or an MP3.
• Sel lAUDIOl lo [STEREOI by pressing AUDIO
(page 52).
• Make sure the unit is eonnecled properly.
The surround effect is difficult to hear when
you are playing a Dolby Digital, DTS, or MPEG
audio sound track.
• Make sure the sound field function is on (page 42).
• Check the speaker connections and settings (page
190)2).

• Depending on the DVD, the output signal may not
be the entire 5.1 channel. It may be monaural or
stereo even if the sound track is recorded in Dolby
Digital or MPEG audio format.
The sound comes from the center speaker

Radio stations cannot be tuned in.
* Check that the antenna (aerial) is connected
securely. Adjust the antenna (aerial) or coniieer an
external antenna (aerial) if necessary.
• The signal strenglh of the stations is loo weak
( when tuning in \^dth automat ie tuning). Use direct
tuning.
• No stations have been preset or the preset sttuions
have been cleared (when tuning by scanning
preset stations). Preset the stations (page 65).
• Press DISPLAY so that the frequency appears in
the front panel display.
The remote does not function.
• There are obstacles between the remole and the
unit.
• The distance between the remote and the unit is
too far.
• The remote is not pointed at the remote sensor on
the unit.
• The batteries in the remote are weak.
The disc does not play.
• There is no disc insetted.
• The disc is upside down.
Insert the disc with the playback side facing down.
• The disc is skewed on the disc tray.
• The system cannot play C’D-ROMs, etc. (page 6).
• The region code on the DVD does not match the
system.
• Moisture has condensed inside the unit and may
cause daiuiige to the lenses. Remove the disc and
leave the unit turned on for about half an hour.
The MP3 audio track cannot be played.
• The DATA CD is not recorded in the MP3 formal
that conforms lo ISO 9660 Level 1/Level 2, or
Joliet.
• The DATA DVD is not recorded in an MP3
format that conforms to UDF (Universal Disk
Fonnar).
• Tlie MP3 audio track does not have the extension
^\MP3."
• The data is not formatted in MP3 even though it
has the extension ".MP3.”
• The data is not MPEGl Audio Layer 3 dala.
• The system cannot play audio tracks in MP3PR0
format.
• The [MODE (MP3, JPEG)I setting has been set to
[IMAGE (JPEG)I (page 62).
• If you cannot change Ihe [MODE (MP3, JPEG)|
setting, re-load the disc or turn Ihe system off, then
on.

The JPEG image file cannot be played.
• The DATA CD is not recorded in a JPEG foririat
that conforms to ISO 9660 Level 1/Level 2, or
Joliet.
• The DATA DVD is not recorded in a JPECi formal
that conforms lo UDF (Universal Disk Format).
