Using only the front speaker
and subwoofer
■ 2 CHANNEL STEREO
This mode outputs the sound from the front left
and right speakers and subwoofer. Standard 2
channel (stereo) sources completely bypass Ihe
sound field processing. Multi channel surround
forniats are downmixed to two channels.
This allows you k> play any source using only
the front Iclt and right speakers and subwoofer.

by headphones
■ HEADPHONE THEATER
This mode outpuls the sound as surrotmd from
lieadphonc L/R.
This fuiictioii is based on ''Digital Cinema
Sound’’ technology.
■ HEADPHONE 2 CHANNEL STEREO
This mode outputs the sound from headphone L/
R. .Standard 2 channel (stereo) sources
completely bypass the sound field processing.
Multi channel surround formats are downmixed
to two channels.
To turn the surround effect off
Press SOUND FIELD +/- repeatedly until
"A.F.D. STD’’ or “2CH STEREO’’ appears in
the front panel display .

Whenever you select a function such as DVD or
TUNER, the sound field that was last applied to
fimciioii is automatically applied again. Forexamplc.
if you listen to DVD with PRO LOGIC as the sound
field, ihen change to another function, and then return
to DVD. PRO LOGIC will be applied again.
Enjoying Multiplex
Broadcast Sound
(DUAL MONO)
You can enjoy multiplex broadcast sound when
the system receive or play the Dolby Digital
multiplex broadcast signal.
• To receive the Dolby Digital signal, you need to
connect a digital satellite tuner to the unit with an
optical or coaxial digital cord (page 34) and set the
digital output mode of the digital satellite tuner to
Dolhv Digital.

and sub languages will be output.
