Removing the Speaker (Desktop Chassis)
1. Turn off the computer and peripherals, disconnect them from their electrical outlets, wait at least 5 seconds, and then
remove the computer cover
.
2.
Remove the hard-drive bracket
.
3.
Remove all expansion cards
.
4.
Remove the expansion-card guide
.
5. Disconnect the speaker cable from the control-panel connector (SPKR). To locate this connector, see "
Control Panel Components
."
6. Feed the speaker cable through the routing hole in the front wall of the chassis (see the following figure).
7. From inside the chassis, lift the speaker up out of the retention tabs on the front chassis wall.
8. Lift the speaker and cable away from the chassis.
