You can lock the flash exposure so that the exposure settings are
correctly set regardless of the composition of your subject.
To Release the FE Lock:
Operate a button other than the
button or the control dial.

Available Shooting Modes

Turn on the LCD monitor.

Press the button and select (flash on).
• If you are using an externally mounted flash, please refer to its
manual for setting instructions.

Aim the camera at the subject on which you
wish to lock the exposure.

Press and hold the shutter button halfway and
press the button.
• The flash will pre-fire and the exposure setting will be locked.

Re-aim the camera to compose the shot as
desired and shoot.
The FE lock cannot be used when [Flash Mode] in the [Flash
Control] menu is set to [Manual].
