11. Connect the flexible top link
only for field opera-
tions and maintenance (never for transport).
Adjust the top link with the tractor turnbuckle and the
sliding link
.
For field operations, adjust the top link so that it is
slack with the planter lowered, and taut near the top
of hitch travel with the planter raised. The goal is to
reduce the weight borne by the rear lift assist cylin-
ders, and reduce any tendency for the tires to dig on
end-of-pass turns and during backing.
12. Raise tractor 3-point just enough to relieve pressure
from the bases of the parking stands.

Your 3PYPA planter is equipped with several standard
and optional devices that require separate electrical con-
nections. For future reference, note any optional connec-
tors on this checklist.

Make sure tractor is shut down with accessory power off
before making connections.
These connections may be made in any order. The key
requirement is that all connections be made prior to
planter movement.
Note: Consoles and switch control boxes should be
mounted in your tractor cab in a location with easy
access. Route wiring harnesses with enough slack
to allow for tractor movement, especially on articu-
lating tractors.
