Sensor Installation

NOTE: The compatible O

2

sensor and bung are not included with the Sensor

Docking Station and must be purchased separately. See page 37 for more

information about purchasing the correct sensor.

If your vehicle has a stock oxygen sensor, it may be possible to

replace it with the Bosch sensor that is compatible with the Sensor

Docking Station. Check your vehicle owner’s manual or consult

a professional at your dealership or local muffler shop for more

information.
If you are not replacing the stock oxygen sensor on your vehicle, a

full oxygen sensor installation will be required. Please note:

Basic Steps to Install an O

2

Sensor

1. Choose a location for the sensor. (Consult the

manufacturer’s specifications for your vehicle and the

oxygen sensor for more information.)

2. Cut a hole for the sensor. (For best results, use an oxygen

cutter.)

3. Weld the bung to the hole.
4. Mount the sensor in the prepared hole.
5. Connect the sensor to the Sensor Docking Station (for

more information, see page 36).

Installing an O

2

sensor can be difficult because the exhaust

manifold or post-turbo exhaust downpipe must be drilled

and tapped. Welding may also be required. Bully Dog

recommends that you utilize professional assistance if you

have not had experience with these procedures.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Prevent damage to the O

2

sensor from water

condensation by installing it at an angle (10° up from horizontal).
