On-line Updates for I/O Configuration and I/O Data
You can add new I/O or re-configure the I/O or update I/O data without shutting down the system by
an on-line update.
Performing an on-line update
An on-line update requires changes to the I/O configuration using the AADvance Workbench and
hardware changes to the I/O; therefore, it is a two stage process (Refer to the Safety Manual for
guidance on the safety related consequences of doing an On-line update). The process is defined in the
following flowchart:
