If you delete the sk.dat file without making a backup copy, you lose the source
keys.
Using the Disable Ability to Configure Source Protection button
In the Source Protection Configuration dialog box, the Disable Ability to
Configure Source Protection button deletes your sk.dat file. See the steps under
Disabling routine source protection
Important:
Write down the source keys or make a copy of the sk.dat file and store in a secure location before
deleting the sk.dat file.
Disadvantages
If you delete the sk.dat file without making a backup copy, you lose the source
keys.
You must enable source protection again in order to use the Source Protection
command on the Tools menu.
You can delete a source key file (sk.dat) from a workstation.
Important:

1. Open the protected project.
2. On the menu bar, click Tool, then click Security, and then click Configure
Source Protection.
