CHEVY S10 LS SWAP HEADERS -
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Thanks for purchasing Stainless Works Muscleflow Headers for your 94 – 03 Chevrolet
S10 Pickup Truck LS Engine Swap. These headers are designed to be used in
conjunction with Current Performance Wiring LS1 V8 S10 Mount Kit. We have gone to
great pains to make sure that our exhaust systems fit and perform well. Please follow
these steps to ensure that your installation goes as planned.
1. Stainless Works recommends the use of Hi-Temp RTV sensor safe silicon gasket
maker as an option to or in conjunction with the use of factory gaskets. The
recommended Oxygen Sensor Safe RTV is either Valco All-in-One Aluminum or
Permatex Copper P/N 101BR available at NAPA, Autozone and other retailers.
2. Disconnect the battery before starting work on your vehicle. Reconnect the
battery when the job is completed.
3. Your exhaust system can be installed by a weekend warrior but the use of a lift is
recommended for ease of installation. If using a jack, the vehicle must be placed
on a level hard surface and jack stands are required for safety reasons.
4. Removed motor mount to pedestal bolts.
5. Removed left (driver side) motor mount plate from engine.
6. Removed steering shaft.
7. Removed master cylinder from brake booster.
8. Removed transmission mount bolts.
9. Removed spark plugs and wires.
10. Remove coil packs (if bolted to valve cover).
11. Remove all Accessory items mounted to the left (Driver side) of engine
(Alternator, Power Steering Pump, Idler Pulley and all Brackets).
12. Remove Starter.
