INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR MODIFYING REAR
VALENCE TO CONVERT 06-09 TRAILBLAZER SS FROM SINGLE
TO TRUE DUAL EXHAUST SYSTEM FROM STAINLESS WORKS
1. Complete the instructions on this page prior to installing the True Dual Exhaust
System on your Trailblazer.
2. You are being provided with a template that represents the required opening for
both the driver and passenger side exhaust tip openings on the rear valence, along
with two pieces of edge molding to be used to provide a clean look to both of
these cutouts on the valence.
3. Cut out the paper template along the edges of the white area with care, all around
the periphery.
4. Place the template on the rear valence (driver’s side) so it is aligned with the body
line of the valence structure along both the top and both sides of the valence.
When both sides of the valence are modified, the driver’s side will end up being
an exact mirrored replica of the passenger side. Tape the template to the valence
and trace a marker along the inside of the template where you will be cutting out
the valence.
5. Carefully remove the template. Place a liberal amount of masking tape around the
outer edges of the marking so it just touches but does not cover the marking.
Using an Exacto or utility knife carefully cut along the marking to remove the
cutout. The driver’s side cutout will be slightly larger than the passenger side.
6. Using a file, blend the edges of the cutout to remove irregularities. Place the edge
molding along the cutout periphery on the driver’s side.
7. Flip the template over and place it on the passenger side so it is aligned with the
body line of the valence structure along both the top and both sides of the valence.
When both sides of the valence are modified, the passenger’s side will end up
being an exact mirrored replica of the driver’s side. Tape the template to the
valence and trace a marker along the inside of the template where you will be
cutting out the valence.
8. Repeat steps 4 through 6 above for the passenger side.
