As you can see in the preceding illustration, the system is performing much better with the P gain set
to 4.
Note: Every system is different and requires unique tuning settings. MTS recommends starting
with P Gain at 1 and incrementing by 1 until drift around zero is sufficiently reduced. Starting at
higher values is not recommended because the system could go suddenly unstable.
Perform Basic Force Performance Tuning
To perform basic performance tuning:
1. Disable manual command.
This allows the function generator to control the system.
a) In the Station Manager main window, click the Manual Command button.
b) Click to clear (uncheck) the Enable Manual Command check box.
2. Set up a force waveform using the Function Generator.
