HYDRAULIC CYLINDER
6. The hydraulic cylinder can now be attached between the lug on the drawbar and the lug on the
center frame. The base end of the cylinder is attached to the drawbar lug and the rod end is
attached to the frame lug. It may be necessary to extend the cylinder rod or raise the frame
slightly to make this connection. Use the cylinder pins packaged with the cylinder to attach the
cylinder to the machine. Be sure to bend the cotter pins so that the cylinder mounting pins can
not disengage.
HYDRAULICS
Because of the wide variety of uses and towing implements used with the pulverizer, it is shipped
without hydraulic hoses. This is done to eliminate exceptionally long hoses or splices in the lines
which could cause leaks. Each customer should determine how much hose is required and have
hoses made locally.
The cylinder ports are O- ring ports for 3/4-16 straight thread. Install the flow restrictor adaptor into
both cylinder ports and tighten to 50 ft-lb. Connect the 90 degree swivel fitting to the restrictor.
Lubricate the flare connection. Then using one wrench to prevent the restrictor from turning, use a
second wrench and rotate the swivel nut two wrench flats (1/3 turn). For reassembly, follow the
above procedure but only tighten the swivel nut one wrench flat (1/6 turn). before attaching the
hoses. If your cylinder is shipped with a pipe thread adaptor, DO NOT use the adaptor.
Raise the machine hydraulically and insert the transport pin into position and secure it with the klik
pin provided. (Refer to Figure 5).
CAUTION
Do not raise the machine without the use of hydraulics.
This would introduce air into the cylinder. When the
transport pin is removed the frame would lower rapidly
possibly causing injury.
