Organizing and Uploading
Organizing your channel content makes content
navigation easier for your viewers. Knowing when to
upload, how much, and how to communicate your
schedule, keeps your subscribers engaged.
Organize with Playlists
•
Playlists are most often used as folders to group similar
content pieces. Organizational playlists make it
simpler for viewers to find the content they want to
watch. They also promote multi-clip viewing by
enabling auto-roll from video to video.
•
Playlists can also be used for programming initiatives.
A good example of how to program a playlist would
be to organize a news event – all the videos
pertaining to one person or story can be strung
together in a playlist.
•
Group your videos in a playlist in response to a large
cultural event (i.e., breaking news), annotate clusters
of videos that pertain to the same event, and upload
archived videos with
relevant
tags that pertain to a
large event.
Link Content with Annotations and Video Responses
•
Cluster 2-3 videos or playlists into a group. An example
of a content cluster would be one video of main
content, another with behind-the-scenes content, and
subsequent responses to viewer comments. Link your
videos with video responses, annotations at the end of
the video, and scripted CTAs.
•
Groups of linked videos can also have their own
playlists (i.e., all of your behind-the-scenes
videos, etc.).
•
Video responses are a good way to link together
content as well. Controlling their placement on
the watch page allows you to leverage your
already-successful content, promote additional
content, and build momentum for your channel.
•
Go to your channel settings and turn on InVideo
Programming to promote your channel and/or
one video across all your uploads. InVideo
programming can be used to build your brand,
link back to your channel, and promote singular
tent-pole videos across all your uploads.
