Launching a Channel
Repurposed
Regular Schedule and Frequency
•
Ensure that your main channel (if applicable) as
well as your new channel have a regular upload
schedule.
Channel Page Optimizations
•
Communicate your regular upload schedule
through the channel branding on main and new
channels.
•
Add relevant partners (who carry similar content)
to the subscription box on your new channel.
•
Use channel banner to graphically promote new
channels.
Calls to Action and Annotations
•
Annotate the archives on your main channel to
point to content on your newly launched
channel.
Cross-promotion and Collaboration
•
Effective collaborations can be accomplished
through channel page optimization, annotated
CTAs, and placement in the “Other Channels”
module.
•
Established channels (or other channels you
manage) can shout-out your content in their
videos.
•
Established channels can interact with the new
channel’s content by interacting with single
videos or subscribing to the entire channel –
these interactions are broadcast to subscribers in
the channel feed.
New
In addition to repurposed content best practices,
new content best practices include:
Calls to Action
•
“Watch more” and “subscribe” CTAs work as
segments in your videos or as standalone videos.
Regular Schedule and Frequency
•
Reiterate the upload schedule (“New content
every Thursday!”) in a standalone video or
scripted CTA segments.
Cross-promotion and Collaboration
•
Collaborate on an original piece of content that
links the main (or another partner’s) channel and
the newly launched channel. Include CTAs and
annotations.
Annotations
•
Whenever possible, annotations should be given
context through a CTA from the show’s host!
Promotion
•

interacts with audiences across social media.
