2. Install the valve stem extension to
the existing valve stem and secure
with the 1/4”-20 Allen-head screw.
(See Figure 6a-2: “Install Valve
Stem Extension.”) Torque screw to
96 in.-lbs. (13 N-m).
3. Install the slow-close actuator
assembly to the valve upper bearing
cover using the four (4) 1/4”-20 hex
screws and hardware. (See Figure
3-3: “Slow-Close Actuator Assem-
bly,” on page 18.)
Torque screws to 96 in.-lbs. (13 N-
m). (See Figure 6a-1: “SVS Slow-
Close Actuator Overview,” on page 35.)
4. Open and close the valve a few times to check for smooth operation with
“resistance.”

If manually override is required to open or close the SVS valve, the electrical
actuator must be removed form the valve assembly.
