S Observe the maximum permitted values for:
Ĉ the gripping force (depending on holding force, holding point, eccentricity

and spring force; see catalogue specifications)

Ĉ the maximum permitted weight force of the gripper fingers depending on the

closing time (see Technical specifications).

The weight force of the gripper fingers should be calculated.

Setting the closing time with long and heavy gripper fingers.

Tighten the restrictor screws of the up−stream GRLA−.../GRLZ−...:

ć at first completely,
ć then loosen one turn.

Start a test run in the following sequence:

Tests

Without work load

Ĉ Correct assignment of the compressed air

connections

Ĉ Gripping speed
Ĉ Function of the proximity switches

With work load

Ĉ Reliable holding of the work load

1. Listen to the knocking of the piston.

Tighten the restrictor screw one turn.
The maximum gripping speed is now reached.

Test run with points 2 and 3
continued

Finish test run

2. Loosen the restrictor screws of the up−stream GRLA−.../GRLZ−... one turn.

3. Repeat points 1 and 2 until the desired gripping speed is reached.

Finish the test run. The gripper must then be exhausted.
