VGA interface connections (SBC-599 only)
The SBC-599 PCI SVGA interface can drive conventional CRT
displays and is capable of driving a wide range of flat panel
displays, including electroluminescent (EL), gas plasma, passive
LCD and active LCD displays. The board has two connectors to
support these displays, one for standard CRT VGA monitors and
one for flat panel displays.
CRT connector (CN16)
CN16 is a standard 15-pin D-SUB connector commonly used for
VGA.
Pin assignments for CRT connector CN16 are detailed in Appendix
B.
Flat panel connector (CN11)
CN11 consists of a 44-pin, dual-in-line header.
The SBC-599 provides a bias control signal on CN11 that can be
used to control the LCD bias voltage. It is recommended that the
LCD bias voltage not be applied to the panel until the logic supply
voltage (+5V or +3.3V) and panel video signals are stable. Under
normal operation, the control signal (ENAVEE) is active high. When
the SBC-599 power is applied, the control signal is low until just
after the relevant flat panel signals are present.
LCD power select (J12)
The SBC-599 PCI SVGA interface supports 5V and 3.3V LCD
displays. By changing the setting of J12, you can select the panel
video signal level to be 5V or 3.3V.
