SNMP Engine ID
An SNMP agent has an engine ID to uniquely identify the agent in a
device. In addition, the engine ID uniquely identifies MIB objects within a
domain.
Following the RFC 3411 standard, the engine ID consists of the enterprise
ID and the MAC address for the switch.
You can modify and reset the SNMP engine ID by following the
procedures in the following sections:
Modifying SNMP
Engine ID
This procedure explains how to modify the engine ID.
1. From the main menu on the left side of the page, select the SNMP
folder.
The SNMP folder expands.
2. From the SNMP folder, select Engine ID.
The SNMP Engine ID Settings page is displayed. See Figure 90.

3. Type the engine ID in the Engine ID field.
4. Click Apply.
5. From the main menu on the left side of the page, select Save Settings
to Flash to permanently save your changes.
Resetting SNMP
Engine ID
This procedure explains how to reset the engine ID or reset the engine ID
to the default setting.
1. From the main menu on the left side of the page, select the SNMP
folder.
The SNMP folder expands.
