Viewing infrastructure information for a cluster
To view information about a selected cluster:
1.
Select a cluster in the inventory tree.
2.
Click the HP Insight Software tab.
3.
Click Infrastructure in the Cluster Management section of the HP Management pane.
The Infrastructure page displays the following information:
For Blade systems: Identification information for each enclosure in the cluster, including enclosure
name, model, assignment (full or partial, depending on server membership in the cluster), and
Onboard Administrator information. For specific information about an enclosure, click the enclosure
name.
For non-Blade systems: Identification information for each server in the cluster, including the host
name, model, and IP address. For specific information about a server, click the server name.
Viewing power management information for a cluster
To view information about a selected cluster:
1.
Select a cluster in the inventory tree.
2.
Click the HP Insight Software tab.
3.
Click Power in the Cluster Management section of the HP Management pane.
The Power Management screen displays power information for each HP ProLiant and BladeSystem
server/host. The cost advantage information appears for clusters that are configured with a power
cost setting. For more information, see
“Setting the power cost for a cluster” (page 23)
.
Viewing and updating firmware on clustered servers
NOTE:
Firmware information is available for ESXi systems only.
To view firmware information and/or update firmware for the selected cluster or servers in the
cluster:
1.
Select a cluster in the inventory tree.
2.
Click the HP Insight Software tab.
3.
Click Firmware in the Cluster Management section of the HP Management pane.
Within the Firmware page you can do the following:
View firmware inventory and export to a CSV file
Select the Firmware Inventory tab to display the following:
•
Server name or IP address
•
Installed firmware-related component
•
Firmware version
•
Firmware manufacturer
•
Component type (function)
If desired, generate a firmware inventory list in CSV file format by selecting Export to CSV.
Update Smart Components
You can update firmware using one of two methods: (1) enter the URL of a web server you have
set up for downloading firmware updates, or (2) use Insight Control for vCenter to manage smart
components (see Manage Smart Components to upload the Smart Component first before
proceeding).
