Remove the Cover
If you are installing options, you will need to remove the cover. You do not need
tools to remove the cover.
WARNING
Before removing the cover, always disconnect the power cord
and unplug telephone cables. Disconnect the power cord to
avoid exposure to high energy levels that may cause burns
when parts are short-circuited by metal objects such as tools
or jewelry. Disconnect telephone cables to avoid exposure to
shock hazard from telephone ringing voltages.
To remove the cover:
1. Turn off the NetServer and disconnect the power cord.
2. Unlock the cover: To unlock the cover, use the key in the key bag located
on the rear of the NetServer.
3. Release the latches: Lift up the two release latches on the sides of the front
bezel.
4. Remove the NetServer cover. Place your hands on the top of the cover,
one along each edge, as shown in Figure 1-1. While applying downward
pressure, pull the cover sharply forward to release it and then slide it
forward and off the chassis.
CAUTION
To avoid pinching cables when replacing the cover, verify
that no cables protrude beyond the sides of the chassis. To
avoid interfering with the cooling fan, verify that no cables
protrude into the fan.
