4 Database Administration

Commands

The PA XP CLUI supports the following commands for database administration:

ExportDB Command

You can use the ExportDB command to export data, for charting or graphing, and including the Ext-Lun

information to a data visualization program, such as Microsoft Excel. The output of the ExportDB

command for the dkc performance data contains the maximum configuration of an XP12000 array, even

though the XP10000 array has a maximum of 4 CHIPs and 2 ACPs. This is because there are 16

CHIPs and 8 ACPs columns. However, if the column is not applicable for XP10000, it displays the text

"Invalid" as a column heading. For mix PCBs, the column displays the label "Invalid Mp" as a column

heading for MPs 4 to 7.

NOTE:

PA XP supports multiple data collection. To ensure that the exportdb command is successful, create one

schedule with all components selected and set the same frequency of collection.

Example 1. Schedule 1

Components selected:

Raid group:

1-2

Frequency of collection: 1 min

Example 2. Schedule 2

Components selected:

DKC
Raid group: Leftover raid groups by the first schedule.
Port: All the available ports.
Frequency of collection: 30 mins (for all the above components)

ExportDB usage

Following are the required parameters for the exportDB command:

–et

–dkc
