N/A The volume is not assigned to a pair. The storage system accepts read/write for SMPL
volumes that are not reserved. SMPL

Read/write
disabled The pair is being deleted. Pair operations are not allowed in this status. Upon deletion,
the status changes to SMPL. SMPL(PD)
Read only The paircreate initial copy is in progress.* The storage system accepts read/write to
the P-VOL but stops write operations to the S-VOL. COPY(PD)/COPY
Read only The initial copy operation is complete and the volumes are paired. The storage system
performs update copy operations from P-VOL to S-VOL. The P-VOL and S-VOL in PAIR
status may not be identical. PAIR
Read only The pair is in the process of Steady Split. Any remaining differential data is copied
to the S-VOL. When this is completed, the pair is split and the data in the S-VOL is
identical to data in the P-VOL at the time of the split. COPY(SP)/COPY
Read/write
enabled. The The pair is in the process of Quick Split. P-VOL differential data is copied to the S-VOL

I/Os for S-VOL. When a split pair is resynchronized, the storage system copies only COPY(RS)/COPY
P-VOL differential data to the S-VOL. When a suspended pair is resynchronized, the
storage system copies the entire P-VOL to the S-VOL.
Read only The reverse pairresync operation is in progress. The storage system copies only S-VOL
differential data to the P-VOL. No update copy operations are performed during
Reverse Copy or Quick Restore. Write I/O operations to S-VOL are rejected. COPY(RS-R)/RCPY
Read only The pair is suspended by the storage system. The storage system continues accepting
read and write I/Os to the P-VOL. Update copy operations are stopped to a S-VOL. PSUE
The storage system marks the entire P-VOL as differential data, resulting in entire P-VOL
being copied to the S-VOL when the pair is resynchronized.
* Starting time of the copy depends on the numbers of pairs and the storage system environment.
