Preserving Cartridges
•
If the tape cartridge has been exposed to heat or cold extremes, stabilize the
cartridge at room temperature for the same amount of time it was exposed (up to 24
hours).
•
Do not place cartridges near electromagnetic interference sources, such as terminals,
motors, and video or x-ray equipment to protect data.
•
Store tape cartridges in a dust-free environment where the relative humidity is
between 20 percent and 80 percent. For longer cartridge life, store the cartridge at 40
percent ± 20 percent relative humidity.
•
Use the sliding labels provided. Do not use adhesive labels, and do not write on the
cartridge.
•
Place an labels only in the slide-in slot on the front of the cartridge.
