Preserving Cartridges

If the tape cartridge has been exposed to heat or cold extremes, stabilize the
cartridge at room temperature for the same amount of time it was exposed (up to 24
hours).

Do not place cartridges near electromagnetic interference sources, such as terminals,
motors, and video or x-ray equipment to protect data.

Store tape cartridges in a dust-free environment where the relative humidity is
between 20 percent and 80 percent. For longer cartridge life, store the cartridge at 40
percent ± 20 percent relative humidity.

Use the sliding labels provided. Do not use adhesive labels, and do not write on the
cartridge.

Place an labels only in the slide-in slot on the front of the cartridge.
