Close-up lens / protection window
If using the close-up lens, the emissivity setting of the instrument (EMI) has to
be corrected with the following factor (emissivity see 5.1) due to reduced
measuring signal:

3.3.4 Eye protection filter
The eye is exposed to extreme brightness during the alignment of the pyrometer with the view
finder at temperatures above 1200 °C. The pyrometer is equipped with an eye protection filter
to prevent a damage of the eye. This filter must be used for such measurements.
Warning: For temperatures above 1200 °C, switch the eye protection filter on to
prevent damage to the eye.
