SABL PRIVACY MODE OPTION
SABL privacy lock functions:
1. Once a valid code is entered the SABL will allow entry into the area during its unlocked time period
(opening door activates “privacy mode”).
2. While the person is in the secured area the SABL will not accept further code entries (“privacy mode”).
3. While in the “privacy mode” the keypad red LED will light for 5 seconds when a button is pressed, and no
beep will be echoed as is heard in the “normal mode”.
4. Exiting the area automatically resets the SABL to accept a valid code again (“normal mode”).
SABL privacy lock features:
• 55 available entry codes (code slots 01-55), automatically engage the “privacy mode” when used to enter
the secured area.
• 2 maintenance codes (code slots 56-57), allow entry into the secured area during the “normal mode”
only, without activating the “privacy mode”.
• 2 emergency codes (code slots 58-59), allow entry into the secured area at all times, without activating
the “privacy mode”.
• Key bypass at all times, without activating the “privacy mode”.
• 1-10 second adjustable unlocked period.
SABL privacy lock troubleshooting:
Note: Complete troubleshooting is included in the SABL instruction manual.
• Problem:
SABL did not go into “privacy mode”, allowing someone to walk in on me?
Cause:
The door must be opened during the release time (1-10 sec.), if the handle is held down past
the release time, the door can still be opened but the “privacy mode” will not be activated.
Solution:
Do not hold the handle down past the release time, set the release time higher.
• Problem:
SABL is in “privacy mode” when the secured area is not occupied.
Cause
#1:
The door is opened during the release time and without a person entering, the door is
allowed to close after the time has expired, putting the SAB into “privacy mode”.
Solution:
Use key or emergency code to enter, this method also resets the SABL to “normal mode”.
Cause
#2:
The door is opened during the release time and a person enters the secured area and the
door closes, if the person then exits the secured area before the release time expires, the SABL will be
in “privacy mode”.
Solution:
Use key or emergency code to enter, this method also resets the SABL to “normal mode”.
