6.2. FURTHER DESCRIPTION, CONTINUED

For multiple terminal installations, a redundant storage model is used.

Each terminal has a complete copy of the data.

Database information that needs to be copied to the other terminals is placed
in

“Pickup”

directories specific to each terminal.

The receiving terminals control reading and deleting the information from the
originating terminal.

If a network connection goes down, the database information to be copied to
the other terminals accumulates on the originating terminal until the network
connection is restored. Afterwards, the

“Pickup”

data is processed, and

then the local database(s) is updated.

In the event of an unrecoverable error or a terminal being added, it is possible
to designate one of the terminal’s database information to be the

“Master

Copy”.

Then the information to another terminal or terminals.
