If linseeds are to be used in baking, they can
be ground quickly and very finely by first mixing
them with grain.
Oats are softer than other types of grain.
Therefore they cannot be ground as finely as
linseeds. You can also get a better result if you
freeze the oats and grind them as soon as you
take them out of the freezer.
Important information:
As grain is a natural and living preservative and
is therefore hydroscopic, it must be stored in
a dry location. Grain has just to be damp for it
to cause abnormal heating. This can easily be
detected as the grinding zone in the steel
conical grinding unit becomes clogged and
fine grinding is no longer possible. If the
appliance has difficulty in fine grinding the
grain, this is an indication that the grain is too
damp.
Dampness test
A simple test is to crush the ingredients
between two hard objects. Unsuitable, i.e.
excessively damp ingredients, can be flattened
like oats and they will not crack; if required,
dry them again.
You can also put some of the ingredients in the
freezer for several hours and then immediately
process them at a fine grinding setting. If the
frozen ingredients can be ground finely, this is
a clear indication that the grain was too damp
previously.
After using the appliance
S Switch off the food processor with the rotary
switch.
S Pull out the mains plug.
S Remove the mill from the drive by rotating
it to the right (Fig. 9).
S Remove filling container e.
S Rotate setting ring b all the way in an antiĆ
clockwise direction. The double arrow is
situated opposite the mark. In this position
the grinding ring and grinding cone can be
removed (Fig. 10).
Cleaning and care
Attention!
Do not use scouring agents.
Clean the mill after use unless it is used daily.
If the ingredients contain oil, e.g. linseeds,
the mill should be cleaned after each grinding
process.
S Rotate the switch to 0".
S Pull out the mains plug.
S Rotate the mill to the right and remove
(Fig. 9).
S Do not clean the housing in water. Wipe the
outside with a damp cloth only.
S Clean the grinding unit with a dry brush only.
Tip: The grinding cone outlet can be cleaned
by folding down the lower part of the outlet
(Fig. 11).
Store the mill in a dry room. Provided the
operating instructions are followed, it is not
necessary to service the mill.
