Attention!
If the MUM8 is not operated with the original
bowl, the tool drive cover must be attached
(Fig. 3a), otherwise the appliance will not
start.
If the tool drive cover is attached, the original
bowl lid for the MUM8 cannot be attached.
S Thoroughly clean accessories before using
for the first time, see Cleaning and care".
Preparation/assembly
S Place the grinding cone c on the square
shaft in the housing a.
Position the setting ring b until the marks
are in alignment (Fig. 4).
S Insert the grinding ring d, arrow on the bevel
must point towards the mark and the double
arrow on the setting ring b (Fig. 5). Only in
this position can the grinding ring be inserted
correctly. If required, gently depress the
grinding ring and rotate the setting ring in
a clockwise direction into the grinding area
as far as the required setting (Fig. 6).
S Attach filling container e.
S Attach mill to the drive arm swivelled into
a horizontal position on the base unit and
rotate all the way to the left (Fig. 7).
S To prevent dust, place the lid on the bowl.
Attach the lid as follows:
- Raise the swivel arm on the food
processor.
- Attach the lid.
- Put the swivel arm back into the operating
position.
If required, cover the lid opening with a cloth.
S Pour the ingredients into the filling container.
Max. contents 750 g/1 lb 10 oz (the marks
in the filling container are a guide and refer to
wheat).
S Switch on the food processor with the rotary
switch.

S The degree of grinding can be adjusted by
rotating the setting ring b.
To the left (6) = coarser.
To the right (1) = finer.
The degree of grinding is set steplessly and
can be changed while the mill is running.
Note: To prevent the grinding unit from
becoming blocked, please change the
degree of grinding in the fine" setting
direction in small steps only.

Important information
!
To prevent overloading the appliance, grind
max. 2 kg/4 lb 8 oz in one grinding process.
Then leave the appliance to cool down for
1 hour.
For grinding select setting 4 on the food
processor. To prevent the ingredients from
overheating, setting 3 can be used for a very
fine degree of grinding.
The mill is suitable for grinding all types of grain
(except maize), poppy seeds, linseeds,
sesame, buckwheat, etc. Even herbs,
spices and coffee can be ground.
The grain must be dry, otherwise the grinding
unit may stick. Therefore, store the ingredients
uncovered in a dry location or in a jute sack.
The storage temperature must not exceed
40 ºC. The values listed in the following table
are approximate and depend on e.g.
- moisture content,
- growing time (summer or winter).
These may be above or below the indicated
values.

* Linseeds and poppy seeds contain oil; if the setting
is too fine, the grinding performance will be low.
You will get a better result if these seeds are frozen
prior to grinding.
