Selection and Installation Instructions
for Perko Fig. 0061 Accessory Relay
Selection:
For use with Fig. 0174 Series 12 Volt Underwater Lights - install Cat. No. 0061DP1RLY.
For use with Fig. 0174 Series 24 Volt Underwater Lights - install Cat. No. 0061DP2RLY
These relays are rated continuous duty and Ignition Protected for use in compartment
areas exposed to fuel vapors. They will permit the use of a remote switch to control
multiple lights without heavy current wiring run for long distances.
Selection of components and all wiring to the switch must be preformed by a QUALIFIED
MARINE ELECTRICIAN, and in accordance with the “Fire Protection Standard For Motor
Craft”, N.F.P.A.* No. 302, The Standards of the American Boat and Yacht Council, Inc., and the
U.S.C.G. Safety Standards for Boat Electrical Systems (33 CFR 183).
The 12 volt version is rated at 65 amps, and will easily drive up to 10 lights (50 watts
each). The 24 volt version is rated at 65 amps, and will easily drive up to 20 lights (50
watts each).
Gauge of wire must be selected by insulation rating, current draw, length of run and other
factors. A terminal block may be necessary to distribute current to multiple lights. Circuit
protection is required on the circuits supplying the lighting and relay coil. A generalized
circuit diagram is illustrated below:
