MOUNTING INFORMATION
Read all instructions before proceeding.
1). These instructions show the orientation of the lights after the proper mounting location has been determined. For prop-
er light selection, positioning and configuration, refer to A.B.Y.C. Standard A-16*, the ‘72 COLREGS*, and the U.S.
Inland Navigation Rules*, These lights are supplied complete with 12 volt bulbs (Cat. No. 0071DP0CLR), however, 24
volt bulbs (Cat. No. 0072DP0CLR) are available for 24 volt systems.
2). These lights are designed to be mounted on a vertical surface that is parallel to the centerline of the boat.
3). Draw a 9 inch long horizontal reference line through the center of the selected mounting location and parallel to the
centerline of the boat.
4). Cut out the mounting template below. Tape it on the mounting surface such that the reference line (drawn above) is
directly underneath the reference line marked on the template and the arrow on the template points ahead (not
astern).
5). Drill 2 holes through the template to accommodate #8 oval head mounting screws. Drill one 3/8 inch hole to
accommodate the electric wiring.
6). Attach supply connections to the lights, making sure to wire in accordance with both A.B.Y.C. Standard E-9* and U.S.
Coast Guard Safety Standards for Boat Electrical Systems (33 CFR 183)*.
7). Mount the lights in accordance with the template and on the correct side of the boat in accordance with Diagram #1.
Be sure the drain hole in the mounting gasket is located on the lower side (bottom) and is not blocked when caulking
or sealing the light to the mounting surface.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The drain must be left open in order to remove
condensation from the light.
8). For final accuracy of mounting, make sure the reference line drawn in #3 above emerges from underneath the lights at
the exact centers of both the front and rear points of each light.
* The above referenced standards can be obtained from:
