TOOLS NEEDED:
Trim Panel Remover, 10mm Socket
& Ratchet or 10mm Wrench,
Philips Head Screwdriver, Test-probe
WARNING
Read and follow all warnings and cautions
printed on the tow vehicle’s battery.
1. Open trunk. Remove threshold plate, trunk floor
panels and spare tire tray from vehicle. Remove
the access panel doors on both sides to access
vehicle’s wiring connectors. Partially remove the
corner felt trunk liner, on both sides, exposing
the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness

2. On the driver and passenger sides of the
vehicle, locate the vehicle’s taillight wiring
harness. Separate this connector, being careful
not to break the locking tabs. All connector
surfaces should be clean and free of dirt.
3. On the passenger side, insert the T-Connector
end with the green wire between the vehicle
wiring connectors and lock into place.
4. Route the T-Connector end with the yellow wire
to the driver’s side behind the panels and along
the threshold

. Repeat step 3 for T-Connector
end with the yellow wire.
5. On the passenger’s side locate the vehicle’s
Positive (+) battery cable

. Disconnect and
isolate the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery terminal

. Attach the fuse holder (with fuse removed)
to the positive (+) terminal of the battery.
WARNING
Read and follow all warnings and cautions
printed on the tow vehicle’s battery.
6. Attach the T-Connector ground (white) wire
to the Negative (-) battery terminal. Reconnect
the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable and
install the 15 amp fuse into the fuse holder
from step 5.
WARNING
All connections must be complete for the
T-Connector to function properly. Test and
verify installation with a test light or trailer
once installed. For initial test, reset vehicle
electrical system by temporarily removing
the key from the ignition.
7. Locate a suitable mounting location near battery
on passenger side, and clean area with 50/50
water/alcohol solution where the converter will
be mounted. Mount the black box in this area
using the double-sided tape provided.
8. Secure the harness to the vehicle, using the
cable ties provided. Reinstall felt trunk liner,
threshold, and other items removed during
installation, being careful not to pinch or
cut the wires.
9. When in use pull 4-Flat through the trunk
and close.
NOTE
Store 4-Flat connector in spare tire
compartment when not in use.
WARNING
Overloading circuit can cause fires.
DO NOT exceed lower of towing manufacturer
rating or:
• Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)
• Max. tail lights: (5.6 amps)
