A. Reinstall the plastic tr im panels, threshold,
storage covers, floor covering and other
items removed during installation, being
careful not to pinch or cut the wires.
For d Five Hundred
A. Reinstall f elt trunk liner, threshold, and
other items removed during installation,
Being careful not to pinch or cut the wires.
W ARNING
Ov erloading circuit can cause fires. DO NOT
exceed lower of towing manufacturer rating or:
• Max. stop/turn light: (7.5 amps)
• Max. tail lights: (7.5 amps)

TOOLS REQUIRED:
T rim Panel Puller
1. Ford Freestyle
A. Open rear hatch. Temporarily remove the
rear threshold plate. d
B. P artially remove the rear interior trim panels
on both the driver and passenger side of
the vehicle.
e Se veral trim panel fasteners
will need to be removed to remove the
panels.
fg Set aside all items remo ved
being careful not to damage parts.
For d Five Hundred
A. Open tr unk. Temporarily remove the rear
threshold plate. h
B. P artially remove the felt trunk liner behind
the taillights. i
2. On the dr iver and passenger sides of the
vehicle, locate the vehicle's taillight wiring
harness.
j The taillight wir ing harness will
have a connection point, on both sides,
matching the ends of the T-Connector.
Separate this connector, being careful
not to break the locking tabs. All connector
surfaces should be clean and free of dirt.
3. On the dr iver side, insert the T-Connector end
with the y ellow wire betw een the vehicle wiring
connectors and lock into place. Be careful not
to damage the locking tabs and be sure that
connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs
in place.

4. Route the T-Connector end with the green
wire to the passenger’ s side behind the panels
and along the threshold. kl Repeat Step 4
using T-Connector containing the green wire .
5. Locate a suitab le grounding point near
the connector.
For d Freestyle
A. Dr ill a 3/32" hole and secure the white wire
using the eyelet and screw provided.
CA UTION
V erify what is behind any surface prior to drilling
to avoid damage to the vehicle and/or personal
injury. Do not drill into any exposed surfaces.
For d Five Hundred
A. On dr iver side, locate existing ground stud.
Loosen bolt, place screw eyelet on stud and
re-tighten bolt.

W ARNING
All connections m ust be complete for the
T-Connector to function properly. Test and
verify installation with a test light or trailer
once installed.
NO TE:
For d Freestyle
Route the 4-flat from belo w the driver's side
trim panel into rear storage compartment.
Store there when not in use.
For d Five Hundred
Route the 4-flat from belo w the threshold
plate into trunk. Store there when not in use.
