UNIVERSAL COOLING SYSTEM
PRESSURE TESTER
5. Connect the quick coupler from the hand
pump to the universal adapter while pushing
downward and assuring that the coupler
locks securely.
6. Pump the hand pump handle until the
pressure on the gauge reaches the pressure
recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
DO NOT EXCEED 24psi (1.65 bar)
PRESSURE. The red zone on the pressure
gauge indicates danger, and may result in
serious injury or death.
7. If the pressure reading on the gauge does not
drop, the cooling system is free of leaks. If
the pressure reading on the gauge drops,
there is a leak in the cooling system.
Locating the leak may be easier while under
pressure, prior to removing the tester.
8. After pressure testing is completed, release
the pressure by pressing the orange release
valve button at the end of the hose until the
gauge reads 0. CAUTION!! Always assure
that the gauge reads 0, prior to removing test
components.
9. Remove the quick coupler from the universal
adapter with caution.
10. Loosen the rubber seal to remove the
universal adapter from the cooling system
inlet, by turning the hex nut counterclockwise
with the open end wrench, while holding the top
hex with the fixed handle socket wrench.
11. Remove the universal adapter from the cooling
system inlet.
12. Install radiator cap to cooling system inlet.
Please see the photo and parts list below indicating some of
the common locations for leaks in cooling systems.

2. Radiator drain valve
3. Top radiator hose
4. Bottom radiator hose
