WB II ADHESIVE
Installation:
1. General
a. Read the MSDS prior to using the
adhesive.
b. Apply to surfaces which are clean,
smooth, dry and free of oil and grease.
c. Only apply adhesive when the ambient
temperature is at least 50 ºF (10 °C)
and rising.
d. Stir adhesive vigorously by hand to
achieve homogeneous mixture prior to
application.
e. Thinning the adhesive is not allowed.
2. Duro-Last Fleeceback Membrane
a. Using a 3/8 inch (medium) nap solvent
resistant roller apply evenly at a
coverage rate of 100-120 square feet per
gallon to the SUBSTRATE ONLY. The
coverage rate will vary depending upon
the porosity of the substrate. Do not
apply to non-porous substrates.
b. Do not apply adhesive where hot-air
welding will be performed.
c. Roll the membrane into the adhesive
IMMEDIATELY after it is applied. Do not
wait for the adhesive to dry. Fleeceback
membrane must be rolled into wet
adhesive.
d. Roll membrane onto the adhesive coated
substrate slowly and evenly to avoid
trapping air and to minimize wrinkles.
e. Apply pressure by means of a heavy
roller with a minimum weight of 150
pounds to ensure proper bonding.
f.
For vertical applications use Duro-Last
Fleece membrane adhesive.
g. Refer to the Duro-Last Adhered
Fleeceback Roofing System specification
for guidelines regarding Fleeceback
membrane installation.
3. Duro-Last Membrane
a. Using a 3/8 inch (medium) nap solvent
resistant roller apply evenly at a
coverage rate of 140-180 square feet per
gallon to the SUBSTRATE ONLY. The
coverage rate will vary depending upon
the porosity of the substrate. Do not
apply to non-porous substrates.
b. Do not apply adhesive where hot-air
welding will be performed.
c. Adhesive should be wet or partially dried
to a "wet" surface tack prior to bonding
membrane. Dry time will vary according
to weather conditions.
d. Roll membrane onto the adhesive coated
substrate slowly and evenly to avoid
trapping air and to minimize wrinkles.
e. Apply pressure by means of a heavy
roller or push broom to ensure proper
bonding.
f.
For vertical applications, apply adhesive
to BOTH the membrane and the
substrate at a rate of 180 square feet per
gallon (for a net coverage rate of 90
square feet per gallon). The coverage
rate will vary depending upon the
porosity of the substrate.
For porous substrates, such as
concrete block, apply an initial light
coating of adhesive as a seal coat.
Allow the seal coat to dry thoroughly
prior to adhesive application as
described above.
Allow adhesive to dry to "finger tack"
and then place membrane onto the
substrate.
Apply pressure to complete the bond.
g. Refer to the Duro-Last Adhered Systems
specification for guidelines regarding
membrane installation.
