SSIGNMENT
The log entry specific keywords can be assigned to each individual log entry when
it is created or edited. They are selected with a mouse or with a keyboard shortcut
from a keyword grid or dictionary.
The normal keywords in the Keyword Grid or Keyword Dictionary are added in the
Keywords column within the log sheet.
The keywords defined as “participants” in the Keyword Grid or Keyword Dictionary,
are added in an individual column, i.e. the Participants column, within the log
sheet.
Refer to section 2.3.4 ‘Keyword Types’ on page 57.
How to Add/Remove Specific Keywords to a Log Entry
To add data to log entries effectively, it is best practice to add keywords using the
relevant keyword grids or dictionaries. These are usually best prepared in advance
of the logging session although they could be produced and/or modified at any
time. As many keyword grids or dictionaries as required can be used with a log.
You can add a keyword:
•
to a new log entry, from the Create a New Log window
•
to an existing log entry, from the Edit Log window
You can choose to add keywords from a keyword grid or from a dictionary. When
the log is being created or edited and the corresponding window (create or edit) is
opened, proceed as follows:
1. Open the relevant keyword grid or the relevant dictionary by selecting either
Keywords > Keyword Grid or Keywords > Dictionary from the main
Application bar.
The Apply button of the keyword grid should be active (highlighted).
2. Click the keyword.
It is added to the Create/Edit Log window and it is highlighted in the keyword
grid or dictionary.
3. To remove a keyword, click it again in the keyword grid or dictionary.
It is removed from the Create/Edit Log window.
