Care and Maintenance
Cleaning
Periodic cleaning of the unit is recommended, depending on the
environment in which the KX-PS8100 is used. You should clean the unit:
• At least once a month.
• When the scanner/printer experiences frequent media jams.
• When scan/print quality starts to deteriorate.
To clean the external of the scanner:
1 Turn the power OFF.
2 Clean the cover, the scanner glass, the ADF scanner
glass, the document cover and the white sheet with a
soft cloth. Use any mild commercial cleaner.
CAUTION:
• Do not use benzine, thinner, aerosol cleaners or any abrasive powder.
To clean the internal of the scanner:
When using isopropyl alcohol with a lint-free cloth, make sure that the
alcohol is at least 90% pure, obtainable from your local pharmacy. (Do not
use rubbing alcohol; it can damage the scanner)
1 Turn the power OFF.
