Guidelines for Programming Extensions

Review the items below before you begin to program extensions.

Refer to Appendix C in

System Programming to locate the code for the

feature that you want to program, or use the List Feature menu (which
includes the

Find Feature

option) by selecting

ListFeature

from the

screen that appears when you are programming a feature (see Step

6

in

the procedure that begins on

page 6-26

). For more information about using

the List Feature menu, see Chapter 5 in

System Programming.

If you enter a feature code incorrectly or enter a feature code that is not
appropriate for the selected button, you may hear a beep or see the
message

Programming Error

as the green light next to the button flashes.

Press the button again and repeat the procedure.

If you program the wrong feature on a button, follow the steps below:

1.

Press the button.

2.

Select

Delete

(press

on the PC).

3.

Press the button again.

If you press a line button that is not active, the screen shown below
appears. Press Home to return to the Home screen.

You can use the Extension Information (

Ext Info

) report option on the

Print menu (accessed from the System Programming menu) to print all of
the programmed features for a specific extension.
