Modes of Operation
Conversation Mode
You can place and answer calls only when your phone is turned on.
During a call, the phone is in Conversation mode.
Standby Mode
The phone is in Standby mode when it is on, but not in use.
Power Save Mode
Your Samsung 2500 Series Phone automatically enters Power Save
mode if it does not locate service 15 minutes after you turn on the
phone. In this case,“Power Save - No Service Available” displays. The
phone periodically “wakes up” and searches for service, but until the
phone locates service, you will not be able to place or receive calls.
While in Power Save mode, the phone also searches for service in
response to any keypress.
Note: The Samsung 2500 Series Phone will not enter Power Save
mode if it is in Analog or Analog Home only mode.
Getting Started
Turning on Your Samsung 2500 Series Phone
o turn on the phone, ensure your battery is charged, and then
ress and hold
. The red LED flashes, and an alert sounds .
he display updates to reflect the following conditions:
• When the phone locates digital service, the greeting, time,
and date display. You can now place and receive calls.
• If the phone cannot locate digital service, but does locate
analog service, there will be no time or date displayed.
• If the phone cannot locate service,“Searching for Service”
displays. In this case, you cannot place and receive calls.
Turn off the phone, and then try again later when or where
service is available.
• In Lock mode,“Locked” displays. To unlock the phone, see
“Lock Mode” on page 64.
