Installing applications
An application you want to install

es are normally compressed files
which contain several component
files.
You can get installation packages via
• Bluetooth™, Infrared from a com-
puter or phone.
• multimedia message or as an
e-mail attachment.
• download during a WAP session.
Select the required installation
package:

Alternatively, look at possible appli-
cations e.g. Inbox for an installation
file, select it and press the joystick to
start installation.
Note
Do not install software from sources without
adequate protection against viruses and
other harmful software.
To help you, the software installation sys-
tem uses digital signatures and certificates
on software packages.

Note
Before you install an update for an existing
application, be sure that you have a backup
or the original software package. Otherwise
you cannot restore the original application.
Before restoring the original, remove the in-
stalled application.
Note
The phone warns you when installing soft-
ware without digital signature or certificate.
Continue only if you are sure of the origin
and the contents of the software package.
