b) Is the external device connected with the proper RS-232 cable? Check the
configuration of the external device’s RS-232 port. The C4630 SE’s RS-232

c) Are the ‘baud rate’ and ‘format’ of the external device properly configured?

d) Is the external device properly configured to send/receive?
e) Are the ASCII text serial commands programmed in Sonance Control
Manager correct? See page 40.
f) If using Hex commands, be sure the Macro Editor screen’s H
EX

button
is pressed before inputting the Hex command (see page 40).
g) If the C4630 SE is being serial-controlled by the external device, make sure
that all C4630 SE macros are purged of all RS-232 commands (see page 50).
