Setting IP address with the default VN-
C20 settings
There are 2 methods to set the IP address when
VN-C20 is in its default settings.
(A) Assigning an IP address to VN-C20 from
the DHCP server
(B) Assigning a static IP address to VN-C20
Ⅵ (A) Assigning an IP address from the
DHCP server
● VN-C20 is set to (the DHCP client function is
ON) by default. To assign an IP address from
the DHCP server, connect the VN-C20 to the
LAN that DHCP server is set, then start the
VN-C20.If the DHCP server always assigns
the same IP address to VN-C20, access to
VN-C20 will be easier.
● For details on IP addresses assigned to VN-
C20, please consult your network
administrator.
● You can look up the IP address of VN-C20
using the search tool in the attached CD-
ROM. For details, please refer to the
AReadmeB file in the attached CD-ROM.
Cation:
● Set the DHCP server such that the IP
address assigned to MAC address of VN-
C20 from the DHCP server is the same each
time.Connection may fail if the above setting
is not performed.
Ⅵ (B) Assigning a static IP address
ⅷ System configuration required for setting
IP address
VN-C20 is set to "Static IP" (the DHCP client
function is OFF) by default. Upon starting up,
VN-C20 starts running with the following IP
address.
IP address
: 192.168.0.2
Subnet mask
: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway
:None
Note:
● When setting a static IP address for VN-C20,
connect it to the VN-C20, switching hub and
computer for setting using a straight LAN
cable of Category 5 and above.
ⅷ Set up the computer for setting the IP
address.
● Minimum computer specifications for setting
OS
: Windows XP (Professional or
Home Edition) (SP2)
Web browser :Internet Explorer V6.0
Cation:
● When setting the IP address for VN-C20, do
so by using a network that is made up only of
VN-C20, the computer for setting and the
switching hub.
● Setting the IP address of the camera when it
is connected to other network devices or to
hubs that are connected to other networks
using a LAN cable may cause problems.
