Network Selection
The Network Selection menu is used to set the band required to operate the
Personal Communicator and to search for and register with a service network.
To make and receive calls, your Personal Communicator must be registered with a
network.
Your Personal Communicator automatically searches for the last network used. If
this network is not available, your Personal Communicator attempts to register with
a different network.
When your Personal Communicator attempts to register with a different network, it
generates a list of networks sorted in the following order:
•
The Home network.
• Networks from a preferred list.
• A random list of other networks found above a certain signal strength.
• All remaining networks in descending order of signal strength.
Change Band
This option is used to set the band required to operate your Personal Communicator:
•
Select 1900 when using the Personal Communicator in the U.S.
• Select 900/1800 when using the Personal Communicator outside of the U.S.
