4.2.1 ARP Table

The Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) Table shows the mapping of Internet (IP) addresses to Ethernet

(MAC) addresses. This is a quick way to determine the MAC address of your PC’s network interface to use

with the router’s Firewall – MAC Address Filter function. See the Firewall section of this chapter for more

information on this feature.

No.:

Number of the list.

IP Address:

A list of IP addresses of devices on your LAN.

MAC Address:

The Media Access Control (MAC) addresses for each device on your LAN.

Interface:

The interface name (on the router) that this IP address connects to.

Static:

Static status of the ARP table entry.

- NO

indicates dynamically generated ARP table entries.

- YES

indicates static ARP table entries added by the user.

4.2.2 Routing Table

The Routing Table displays the current path for transmitted packets. Both static and dynamic routes are

displayed.

Number of the list.

Destination:

The IP address of the destination network.

Netmask:

The destination netmask address.

Gateway/Interface:

The IP address of the gateway or existing interface that this route will use.

Cost:

The number of hops counted as the cost of the route.
