Network Application Platforms

SATA Mode Selection

The system supports advanced SATA features such as

software RAID.

Selection

IDE Mode

Set to IDE mode when your want to use the
Serial-ATA hard disk drives as Parallel ATA physical
storage devices.

AHCI Mode

Set to AHCI mode when you want the SATA
hard disk drives to use the AHCI (Advanced
Host Controller Interface). The AHCI allows the
onboard storage driver to enable advanced SATA
features that increases storage performance or
workloads where multiple simultaneous read/
write requests are outstanding, most often
occurring in server-type applications (native
command queuing). It also facilitates hot
swapping.

RAID

Set to the RAID mode when you want to create
a RAID configuration from the SATA Hard disk
drives. Thie chipset supports software RAID

by

using the Intel® Matrix Storage Manager

Serial ATA Port 0/1/2/3

Use this menu to configure specific SATA Port for all ports

on the system.

In order to avoid losing important software
settings without legacy driver knowledge, the
software settings preservation ensures that
the value of important software settings is
maintained across a COMRESET

Port 0

Enable or disable the specific port

Hot Plug

The AHCI of SATA provides hot plug capability
to allow drives to be added or removed with the
PC running.

External
SATA

Called external SATA or eSATA, you can now
utilize shielded cable lengths up to 2 meters
outside the PC to transform SATA to be an
external storage. enable or disable this feature.

SATA Device
type

Select the SATA type from either Hard Disk Drive
or Solid State Drive

Spin Up
Device

Spin-up is a simple mechanism by which the
storage subsystem controller can sequence
hard disk drive initialization and spin-up.set to
control whether each specific drive will spin up.
