Retires
Enter the number of SNMPv3 retires. The value
range is 1 to 20.

Modify the Telnet template:
a.
Click the Configure icon
in the Telnet Template area.
The Telnet Parameters window appears.
b.
Select Edit Telnet Parameters, or select Select an Existing Template to use a pre-configured
Telnet parameter template.
c.
Configure the following Telnet parameters:
−
Authentication Mode—Select an authentication mode for Telnet users. Options are
Password, Username + Password, Super Password, Password + Super Password,
Username + Password + Super Password, No Username + No Password, and Username +
No Password. In this example, Username + Password + Super Password is selected.

Username—Telnet username.
−
Password—Telnet user password.
−
Super Password—Telnet super password.
−
Timeout (1-60 seconds)—Enter the Telnet timeout time in the range of 1 to 60 seconds.
d.
Click OK.

Modify the SSH template:
a.
Click the Configure icon
in the SSH Template area.
The SSH Parameters window appears.
b.
Select Edit SSH Parameters, or select Select an Existing Template.
c.
If Edit SSH Parameters is selected, configure the following SSH parameters.

Authentication Mode—Select an authentication mode for SSH users. Options are Password,
Private Key, Password + Private Key, Password+Super Password, Private Key+Super
Password, and Password+Private Key+Super Password. In this example, Password+Private
Key+Super Password is selected.

User Name—Enter the SSH user name.
−
Password—Enter the SSH user password.

Private Key File—Enter the path and filename of the private key file that contains the key that
enables login. Click Browse to select the desired private key file. After the configuration is
complete, IVM will load and save a copy of the private key file in its database.

Private Key Password—Enter the private key password for the private key file.
−
Super Password—Enter the SSH super password.
−
Port—Enter the port for SSH.
−
Timeout—Enter the SSH timeout value in seconds. The value range is 1 to 120.
−
Retries—Specify how many times IMC will send SSH retries in an attempt to communicate
with the managed device before reporting a failure. The value range is 1 to 5.

Click OK.
