Replacement
1. Align the disk drive into its mounting track.
2. Carefully slide the disk drive into its bracket.
3. Install the screws to attach the drive to the bracket.
4. Connect the drive signal and power supply cables.
Note: Ensure the drive signal cable is properly attached to the back panel connector.
5. Reinstall any boards and floppy disk drive that were removed.
6. Replace the cover using the Main Cover Replacement procedure described
above.
7. If the replacement drive does not have LINCS software on it already, you may
have to format the drive (Offline Utility 41), then initialize the drive (Offline
Utility 36), then perform a software merge of LINCS code. Information on
how to run the Offline Utilities can be found in the LINCS Problem
Determination Manual. Merging new code onto the drive can be found in
Chapter 3 of this manual.
Power Supply Assembly
Removal
1. Ensure power is off and disconnect AC power. Remove the cover.
2. Disconnect the fan cables from the back panel. Please note that there are three
separate connector locations!
3. Disconnect the AC input from the connector on the back of the power supply.
4. Remove the two screws attaching the power supply assembly to the chassis.
5. Slide the assembly from its mounting.
Replacement
1. Slide the new power supply assembly into position and secure with screws.
2. Reconnect the AC input and fan cables.
3. Reinstall the cover using the Main Cover replacement procedure described
above.
4. Reattach the AC power and boot.
