It is most impor-
tant that the pow-
er to the DP-01 is not turned off
when the disk is being formatted.
If this happens, the unit may be-
come unusable.
A message reminds you that all songs will be lost.

again to format the disk with the new partition sizes (or
EXIT
to escape without formatting).
Formatting a partition (Reform)
You cannot undo
this operation—all
data on the selected partition is
lost. ONLY CARRY OUT THIS OP-
ERATION IF YOU ARE SURE THIS IS
WHAT YOU REALLY WANT TO
DO.
If you want to keep partition sizes the same, or you only wish to clean out one
partition of the hard disk, this is the way to do it.

Press
MENU
and select the
DISK
menu.

Select the
REFORM
action and press the y key
An arrow (←) shows the active partition. The sizes of the partitions
are shown (not the available space).

Select the partition to be re-formatted (shown by the
/
cursor) and
press
ENTER
.
A popup message reminds you that all data on the partition will be
lost.

Press
ENTER
to reformat the partition.
Formatting the FAT partition
You cannot undo
this operation—all
data on the FAT partition is lost.
ONLY CARRY OUT THIS OPERA-
TION IF YOU ARE SURE THIS IS
WHAT YOU REALLY WANT TO
DO.
The FAT partition is used for transfer between the DP-01 and a personal com-
puter. Its size is fixed by the DP-01, and cannot be changed.

to reformat the FAT partition.
Automatic song creation
After formatting a disk or a partition, a new song is always created on any
blank partition, in the same way that one is created if the only song on a parti-
tion is erased. You always have a song available to work on.
