Peel off the blue protective film:
Start the peeling process using a sharp tool, being careful not to damage the scale. Pull off
the remaining blue
protective film.

After removing the blue protective film, the scale is ready for use and will perform to
specification. The encoder will not function properly with the blue protective film installed. It
must be removed for proper encoder operation.
